Bridal influences abound at Cannes 2017
As we bid farewell to the 70th Anniversary Cannes Film Festival, it became clear that we had, once again, been treated to another spectacular of red carpet fashion inspiration and wonderment from glamorous celebs and their hardworking stylists.
One of the most notable trends to be seen on the red carpet was the bold bridal influence. With a plethora of gowns and two-pieces in white, ivory satins with sumptuous trains, structured bodices and full layered skirts, it’s clear that the line between bridal and occasion looks had all but melted away.
With bridal clearly influencing the red carpet fashion this year, it will be interesting to see if these stylists picks will, in turn, have an influence on the future bridal trends.
The gorgeous Millie Mackintosh sported an all white look for the event, featuring draped cape detailing and teamed with our Champagne Suede Niki Clutch Bag.
Rihanna unashamedly took the bridal look, in its full glorious glamour, to the red carpet. A stunning off the shoulder traditional bridal style dress with a modern twist, featuring a distinctive 3/4 length sleeve jacket with an abundant length gracefully falling into a train.
Eva Longoria was simply breathtaking in a crisp white, structured gown with both classic bridal style bodice and train, a look that would surely inspire both bridal and cocktail gown choices.
Juliette Binoche looked fabulously on-trend in a boho-chic gown with billowing sleeves and a nod to Victorian style from a high neck collar. This gown would certainly not look amiss on a modern boho-bride.
Uma Thurman’s look contrasted a satin bridal style skirt equip with classic train, with a black blouse and leather biker jacket for a glamorous yet edgy twist.
Elle Fanning flaunted a strapless bridal-style gown featuring hand-painted designs in bold colours on the train, a truly unique and personal dress.
Adriana Lima elegantly cut a spectacular silhouette in a figure-hugging embellished gown with structured bodice and slight trail skirt, a look that surely caught some attention on the red carpet. We think this gown would look sensational paired with our Hollywood Couture heels!
Lily Rose Depp opted for a Grecian inspired gown with beautiful gold accents. We would have chosen none other than our Ennis shoes to compliment this ethereal look!
