Golden Globes- 2017 Trend Report

Hollywood's leading ladies brought their A-game to the red carpet at the 74th Annual Golden Globes. Conformity certainly wasn't the theme, The fashion rulebook was thrown out the window and we were presented with an eclectic mix of vibrant hues and outlandish cuts. Old Hollywood-inspired, hyper-embellished, classic black dresses, statement sleeves, off-shoulders, plunging necklines and more making fashion news. However, here at Freya Rose HQ we are lusting over those vivid shades of pink, yellow and gold. Lily Collins and Emma Stone, led the pack in their whimsical delicate confections; sporting a baby-pink, tulle embroidered Zuhair Murad Couture gown and a sheer, custom-designed Valentino dress with metallic silver star embellishments, respectively. The blush pink fairytale continued through the likes of  Zoe Saldana, Felicity Jones and Lola Kirke. Often when women do menswear on the red carpet, there's an impulse to go very slinky. But even Rachel Wood decided to go dapper instead in her perfectly tailored tux, resulting in a look that's full on Marlene Dietrich. Hidden Figures' star Octavia Spencer chose a navy trouser suit designed by a friend Laura Basci, and Transparent actress Kathryn Hahn wore a Brandon Maxwell black tuxedo with a bandeau top underneath.
