Freya Rose at the British Fashion Council Summer Drinks 2025

This year Freya had the privilege of attending the British Fashion Council Summer Drinks and this year’s gathering felt especially poignant. The event held at the serpentine pavilion was a truly memorable celebration of vision, purpose and possibility
Held in the company of inspiring creatives and empowered women in business, the evening marked the first time hearing Laura Weir speak in her new role as CEO of the British Fashion Council. In just a few months, she has already ignited meaningful change — a testament to her bold and purposeful leadership. It was deeply inspiring to witness her passion and clear direction for the future of British fashion.
One of the most exciting plans outlined is the intention to take London Fashion Week beyond the boundaries of central London. By expanding access to communities that have previously had little or no opportunity within the industry, the BFC is opening the door to a new generation of diverse, untapped talent. This sentiment echoes so strongly with our own brand values at Freya Rose — that true creativity knows no bounds and must be nurtured wherever it is found.
All too often, those with the most vision, originality and passion go unheard or unsupported. The notion of empowering creativity in overlooked places is something we wholeheartedly champion. We cannot wait to see this unfold in practice, creating more inclusive spaces for artistry, craftsmanship and self-expression.
The evening was not only a celebration of progress, but also a joyful occasion to reconnect with friends in fashion — women leading with strength and grace, and designers shaping the cultural fabric of our time. As the sun set over London, there was a tangible sense of excitement — an energy that suggests we are at the beginning of a new, more equitable era for fashion in the UK.
