What are the fashion trends for 2022? We've picked our favourites...
Virtual fashion shows earlier on in the year proved to be a great success, but we were glad to see in person shows back and better than ever.
After spending a lot of our time dedicated to imagining the future once let outdoors, this year’s runways show the past is what we should really keep in mind
Major 90’s nostalgia took over these collections as we saw staple silhouettes, extravagant jewellery and platformed footwear making a comeback but to be honest, did it ever really leave us?
Here are our favourite fashion week trends, paired with our Freya Rose designer shoes and jewellery...
Monochrome Couture
Black and white always provides that sleek and clean finish to a look and fashion week agreed.
Some of our favourite monochrome moments were underwear emerging as the new outerwear. Whether this trend stemmed from our WFH tendencies, we’ll never know, but one thing we’re sure of, is our love for it.
The corseted maxi or oversized blazer for a little coverage with that elegant bra-suit combo screamed feminine and adaptable. It’s all about versatility to create multiple flawless looks with a capsule wardrobe and that extra value of femininity, which we at Freya rose believe all women should be able to express.
This trend has our full support because why not be able to elevate a daytime look for that spontaneous evening adventure?
'MINI HOOPS WITH DETACHABLE PEARLS', £95
We could see our delicate gold pearl earrings paired with a bold white suit much like Fendi’s, to provide that runway level drama with minimal effort.
As we become more conscious of our impact on the planet, fashion refuses to be left behind. On the final day of fashion week, Harris Reed debuts with unique gender-neutral designs through reconstructed wedding apparel. Lace, tulle, and all things bridal were up-cycled by Reed with all featured pieces sourced by Oxfam.
Sustainability is one of our core values, so being able to highlight the danger of fast fashion with the same elegance as Harris Reed, is work we can’t help but love from this young upcoming artist. Reed’s incredible collection reminded us that what we find in our wardrobe does not have to be constrained by the restraints of its original purpose, but pieces cater to many occasions and designer shoes are no different.
'MINEKO - PEARL HEEL', £ 795.00,
'JUNE WHITE BOOT- PEARL HEEL', £595
The iconic Freya Rose heels are a perfect match with a detailled heel made of brass and mother of pearl heel that is ethically sourced, these shoes can be paired with a beautiful wedding gown or your favourite denim!
Luxury High Heels
Shoe designs down the runway were full of 90’s memories we forgot we loved so much – we’re talking platformed heels and big embellished designer shoes
Party Shoes Are Back
Sparkle was not missed when providing that extra level of glamour down the runway this season and collections went all out. Designers opted in delivering that ultimate glitz and glamour in the form of crystals, beads, gemstones, and all things shimmering for their looks.
Embellished heels were at the forefront of these party pieces and continues to be a recurring shoe trend. We believe the overly embellished statement footwear pieces will never be out of style and luxurious sparkle is encouraged at Freya Rose. Intricately detailed embellishment is our forte and these jewelled runway looks can be paired throughout our collections.
'GOLD CRYSTAL LONG DROPS', £ 175.00
'ATHENA MOTHER OF PERAL BAG GREY ', £775
Chunky Platform Heels
Elevation was everything in terms of footwear. The bigger the platform, the better as we saw chunky shoe designs across the board providing that extra level of height. Whether that platform is covered in sparkle like Moschino’s pink glittery heel or an all-black feature, the message is to pick the chunky option!
Not only does a chunky block platformed heel provide a statement, but it also provides that extra degree of comfort. These Freya Rose platformed heels, are key to embodying that elevated elegant shoe for your collection.
'GLORY PEARL HEEL', £995 , 'GIGI IVORY - PEARL HEEL', £595
Accessories
Pearl Jewellery
Taking inspiration from its past, Chanel’s show this year aimed to celebrate its memories with a party atmosphere down the runaway. Models were seen in high spirits showing the true meaning of joie de vivre. A celebration of their fashion took shape in classic designs with contemporary flare. Whether it be the oversized take on the classic Chanel cardigan suit or a sparkled mesh skirt – the accessories were never lacking and beamed with the ever-classic pearls, gold and diamond trio.
Similarly, to Chanel, pearls were many designers’ accessory of choice, with twists on the classic pearl earrings being paraded. We would pair these pearly looks with our very own pearled collections, to acquire that high fashion feel. Freya Rose is renowned for beautiful Mother of Pearl finishes so there is an abundance of choice but these are our personal favourites
'HAND CARVED MOTHER OF PEARL ROSE DROPS' , £145
'BAROQUE PEARL 18CT GOLD VERMEIL NECKLACE', £85
'HAND CARVED MOTHER OF PEARL ROSE HOOP EARRINGS', £130
'HAKURO IVORY MOTHER OF PEARL LONG DROPS' , £148.50
Natural Designs
Natural imagery took over many SS/22 collections bringing us closer to the environment around us.
In particular, the butterfly has fluttered its way down our runways this season with grace and glamour. Many designers have described the motif as symbolising rebirth and freedom, after all we have been cocooned in our homes.
In celebration of beginning able to get back out into the world and enjoy nature again, we have our very own favourite nature-oriented luxury pieces in line with these fashion week trends...
Floral Embellishments
A flowery trail was left down the runway as nature was embodied by the most romantic flowery designs. These touches of floral were done through all mediums possible, leaving no couture, beauty, or accessory behind without this on trend pattern.
These luxury heels will ensure your path is stylish with that added floral kick in your outfit…
Big, Bold and Gold Jewellery
Saint Laurent kept the party going with their ‘After Dark’ accessories which were anything but understated. Adorning their signature ‘after dark’ sunglasses models accessories did not stop there with oversized chunky gold jewellery with silver and gold beads, tiered drop earrings and shimmering gems taking over every wrist, neck, and ear possible.
Our latest design of Crystal Drop earrings have that same Saint Laurent feel, with a bold combination of crystal, colour and gold and paired with our Noir couture shoes, your After Dark look is complete.
