These naturally occurring gems are as unique as fingerprints, and freshwater pearls like those we use for our designer wedding shoes can be found naturally occurring in lakes, riverbeds and creek bottoms in the United States and Japan and are farmed commercially in China to keep up with demand. Although they are farmed, they retain the natural beauty and colouring that makes them so in demand for high-end jewellery and pearl wedding shoes and the linings of the mollusc shell they grow in can be used for mother of pearl inlay, our signature finish on many of our gorgeous shoes.
