Freya and Matt married at St Hubert’s Church in Idsworth, one of the oldest churches in the country, built in 1053 AD with incredible Roman murals on the walls. It is located in the rolling hills and idyllic countryside of the South Downs. Freya’s own grandfather had been the vicar there between 1950 and 1960. This was the place that the couple had always wanted to marry in. Matt had told Freya this on their second date!
Freya’s brother (and best friend) Joseph walked her down the aisle, accompanied by her children and bridesmaids. She says she is sure her father, who sadly passed away last year, was there with her in spirit during the truly magical ceremony.
The Day
The daytime look was minimal, chic and elegant, with a distinctly modern English-countryside feel. Décor, stationery and accents in white and gold were designed by Freya and expertly created by Lo & Behold Bespoke, with ethereal flowers by Blossom Boutique. Freya’s natural hair and makeup look had been created by Amanda Clarke – top celebrity MUA – who kept her calm in the morning and translated her vision perfectly. A sprig of Honesty flower, taken from Freya’s grandmother’s garden and hand-painted in gold leaf, was used on name place cards and elegantly woven into Freya’s beautiful updo.
The venue at Park House Hotel & Spa was also chosen so that the children at the wedding could play and enjoy the grounds.
The first dress that Freya wore was made especially for her by her friend and eco-dress-designer Sanyukta Shrestha, and she carried a gorgeous bouquet of white sweet peas and peonies by Blossom Boutique – inspired by her grandmother’s wedding bouquet but with a modern twist. She wore jewellery by her mother, acclaimed jeweller Barbara Tipple, and a long-length veil that she designed herself with special rose-floral lace. The beautiful bridesmaids wore white outfits from Topshop and Ghost, with gold and silver accessories and of course, Freya Rose shoes!
The Evening
For the evening, the look was more relaxed with a focus on warm, golden tones that looked stunning in the evening light of the woods. Wedding guests enjoyed live music from The P.Y.Ts (via Headliner), Mediterranean food by The Southsea Deli, singing and toasting marshmallows around the fire pit in the stunning grounds of Park House Hotel & Spa. Freya had changed into a shimmering ethereal champagne dress by Amanda Wakeley, and wore her hair naturally down with a delicate golden rose headband by Lila.

The Details
For her 'something borrowed', Freya's mother Barbara gave her ‘Moonshadow’ earrings to wear, jewelled with moonstone and diamonds.
Freya had two very special ‘something blue’s’ – the first was a divine necklace with rare blue moonstones and diamonds, gifted to her by a dear family friend. And the second was a poem, written on blue paper by her late father that she found the night before her wedding. The words were beautiful, poignant and delivered a wonderful message relevant to Freya and Matt’s big day. Freya says it was this poem that helped her get through her wedding day nerves, and the line “Slow down, and it will be well,” is the best piece of advice she will now give to any bride-to-be.

It was important to Freya and Matt that their children be involved in their wedding day. Freya’s son Johnnie was their pageboy, and he designed the cover of the order of service.
Freya and Matt's daughter Willow was made a custom pair of baby shoes with silk flowers for her role as a flower girl.

The Shoes
Freya had three luxurious pairs of breath-taking bespoke wedding shoes – of course! Each pair was made to Freya’s own unique design, using exquisite materials such as polished brass, sterling silver and her signature mother of pearl. These three pairs of shoes were Freya Rose’s most innovative and opulent designs to date, each one taking months to finalise and perfect. Our specialist jewellers used ground-breaking and complex techniques to craft the most intricate heels.
"Freya"
Freya says the first pair, ‘Freya’, was designed to give her height, as she stands at a petite 5’ 2” whilst her partner Matt is a tall 6’ 2”. These gorgeous platform shoes were made in a soft ivory shimmer suede with silver leather lining, a subtle rose-floral mother of pearl heel and sterling silver monogrammed initials: F.A and M.A. This shoe finished her daytime bridal look perfectly with their simplicity and timeless style.
Another beautiful sky-high platform, this time in sultry taupe shimmer suede and golden leather to match the brass rosebud detail on the mother of pearl heels. These also featured exquisite monogrammed initials.
"Glory"
A modern take on a classic platform silhouette, with ornate floral block heel in sterling silver and mother of pearl. Freya designed these stylish, statement shoes to be ultra- comfortable and perfect for photos in the fields and in the woodlands – and for dancing the night away.
