Introducing The Amber Hour Collection

We are delighted to unveil The Amber Hour, our latest couture collection, launching 5th September 2025. This new collection comprises three unique couture shoes and one statement clutch, each designed as a sculptural expression of artistry, elegance and heritage.
Where Japanese Tradition Meets Modern Design
At the heart of this collection lies a profound respect for traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Two of the heels incorporate urushi-e, a refined Japanese black lacquer technique with over 7,000 years of history. This ancient artistry is reimagined through our couture lens, blending seamlessly with our signature Mother of Pearl heels, creating pieces that are as timeless as they are contemporary.

Every design in this collection embodies the strength, grace and creativity of the modern woman, drawing on both ancestral artistry and innovative design. The intricate craftsmanship means only a limited number of each couture style will be available each year, making them true heirloom treasures.
The Inspiration: Capturing The Amber Hour
Each piece in The Amber Hour collection is inspired by that fleeting, luminous moment when day gives way to night — when the horizon burns with shades of gold, crimson and amber before surrendering to shadow.

Freya Rose explains:
“As the sun sets, shadows lengthen and shapes sharpen. I wanted to channel this delicate balance of stillness and drama into the architectural forms of the collection, blending tradition with modern elegance.”

This evocative moment is not only a visual phenomenon but also a metaphor for the modern woman: radiant, powerful, ever-changing. By transforming this transience into permanence, The Amber Hour captures a fleeting sky in the form of timeless, wearable works of art.
Artistic Influences
The collection draws inspiration from Hokusai’s Red Fuji, where brushwork immortalises the mountain in fiery tones of dawn. Similarly, each silhouette within the collection explores the tension between opposites: stillness and movement, light and shadow, delicacy and strength.

Sculptural lines reflect the discipline and purity of Japanese art, while rich, jewel-toned palettes evoke the mesmerising glow of the evening sky. The collection name itself, The Amber Hour, is rooted in the Japanese word Yūyake (夕焼け), meaning “burning sky” or “evening glow”.
A Celebration of Craft and Culture
With The Amber Hour, Freya Rose continues to reimagine indigenous techniques, preserving ancestral artistry while transforming it into something bold, modern and extraordinary. These couture styles are more than accessories; they are wearable works of art designed to become cherished heirlooms.

Launching 5th September 2025, the collection celebrates both the eternal beauty of nature and the enduring legacy of craftsmanship.
