A Powerful Week of Women’s Empowerment & Celebration with Freya Rose

At Freya Rose London, we have always believed in the power of women uplifting women. This International Women's Week, we had the honour of attending and supporting a series of inspiring events that celebrated resilience, empowerment, and the vital work being done to accelerate change for future generations.
A Night of Inspiration at Lime Wood Hotel – 12th March
The week began with an unforgettable evening at the beautiful Lime Wood Hotel, where Freya had the privilege of joining a panel discussion on Accelerating Action – How We All Can Make a Difference. Speaking alongside the incredible Helen McGinn (@knackeredmother) and Marieanne Spacey-Cale MBE was an absolute honour. Although we come from vastly different industries—fashion, wine, and sports—we found a common thread in our experiences: the challenges we’ve faced, the progress we’ve witnessed, and the work still ahead.

Throughout the discussion, we reflected on the evolving landscape of our respective industries. From deeply ingrained gender biases to the ongoing fight for equal opportunities, we acknowledged the strides that have been made while recognising the urgent need for continued progress. One message resonated throughout the evening: When women support women, we all rise.

Celebrating Inspirational Women in Portsmouth – 14th March
Two days later, Portsmouth came together for the Inspirational Women of Portsmouth Awards, an annual event honouring remarkable women making a significant impact in their communities. Unlike traditional awards, this event focuses on collective recognition, celebrating the support networks behind each inspiring woman and women's empowerment.

The evening was filled with performances from the local creative industry, powerful speeches, and stories of resilience, creating a vibrant celebration of empowerment. Ahead of the awards, the Ubuntu Afternoon Tea Party embraced the African philosophy of ‘I am because we are,’ recognising all nominees—over a hundred each year—whether they were finalists or not.
Beyond celebration, the event also raised crucial funds for Endometriosis South Coast and the Haven Women’s Drop-In Centre, supporting vulnerable women in the community. Thanks to ticket sales and Patreon support, an incredible £2,000 was raised to aid those in need.

Freya Rose was proud to attend alongside Meriana Crespo (@streetsugar) and Hayley Madigan (@hayleymadiganfitness). As a brand rooted in empowerment, craftsmanship, and ethical luxury, we are deeply committed to supporting initiatives that uplift women. Witnessing the inspiring stories shared throughout the night was truly moving, and we are honoured to be part of such a meaningful event.

Supporting The King’s Trust at 11 Downing Street – 19th March
To conclude an incredible International Women's Week, Freya was honoured to attend The Brilliant Breakfast at 11 Downing Street, hosted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer. This special event celebrated the achievements of The King’s Trust Change A Girl’s Life campaign, which does vital work to provide young women facing adversity with the support they need to rebuild their lives, gain employment, and shape a better future.

As a recipient of The King’s Trust Enterprise Scheme, Freya knows first-hand the life-changing impact these initiatives can have on young entrepreneurs, giving them the confidence, resources, and skills to build something truly remarkable. The work of The King’s Trust is crucial in breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for the next generation of females.

Keeping the Momentum of Female Empowerment Going
Change does not happen overnight. It requires continuous effort, unwavering belief, and a community that refuses to stand still. As we reflect on these powerful events, we encourage everyone to keep the conversation going, to actively support the women around them, and to recognise the profound impact of even the smallest actions. Whether it’s mentoring a young professional, championing female-led businesses, or simply offering encouragement, every act of support contributes to a collective force for change.

Let’s continue to uplift, inspire, and accelerate progress through women's empowerment—not just this week, but always
