Designer Wedding Shoes in Rome: A Charlotte Griffith Editorial

Rome has always been a city that understands drama. Marble fountains, sun-warmed stone, and centuries of artistry create a backdrop that feels almost cinematic, an atmosphere that lends itself beautifully to designer wedding shoes. When we collaborated with photographer Charlotte Griffith on a recent editorial in the Eternal City, the intention was simple: allow craftsmanship, setting and storytelling to meet.

At Freya Rose London, ourdesigner wedding shoes are conceived as sculptural pieces, objects of beauty designed not simply to be worn for a moment, but to be remembered. Yet it is through the eye of a photographer that a design often finds its most expressive voice. Charlotte’s work possesses an instinctive understanding of light, architecture, and narrative, capturing the emotional atmosphere surrounding a bridal moment.

Margot at the Trevi Fountain

The first chapter of the editorial unfolded beside the iconic Trevi Fountain, where the city hums with romance and myth. Here, our Margot heels were photographed against cascading water and carved marble, a setting that echoed the design's sculptural nature.

There is something particularly fitting about placingdesigner wedding shoes within a landscape of classical artistry. Rome’s fountains and facades were created by master craftsmen centuries ago; our own pieces are shaped with the same reverence for technique, detail and material. Charlotte framed the Margot heels so that they felt almost like artefacts discovered within the architecture, objects of beauty poised between past and present.

Sunlight glancing across the Mother of Pearl detailing brought the design to life, revealing the texture and depth that are so integral to Freya Rose London. In Charlotte’s hands, the shoes became more than accessories; they became characters within the Roman story.

Jolie in a Roman Hotel

The second scene shifted indoors, to the understated elegance of a historic Roman hotel. Within its softly lit interiors, our Jolie heels took centre stage.

If the Trevi Fountain scene celebrated grandeur, this chapter spoke of intimacy, the quiet anticipation before a bride steps out into the world. Here, designer wedding shoes were portrayed not only as statement pieces but also as personal treasures.

Charlotte has an intuitive ability to capture these transitional moments. Her compositions felt almost like still frames from a film: a heel resting on a marble floor, a shaft of afternoon light catching its form, a glimpse of texture against linen and wood. Through this lens, the Jolie heels appeared both contemporary and timeless, perfectly at home in Rome’s layered history.

The Art of Telling a Story

Working with photographers such as Charlotte reminds us thatdesigner wedding shoes do not exist in isolation. They are part of a wider narrative, one that includes place, light, emotion and memory.

Great photography has the rare ability to translate craftsmanship into feeling. A carefully constructed heel becomes a symbol of anticipation; a detail becomes a moment of beauty that a bride might carry with her long after the day itself.

Rome, of course, understands storytelling better than most cities. Every corner holds another chapter, another layer of artistry. It felt only natural that ourdesigner wedding shoes should be photographed here, where heritage and creativity coexist so effortlessly.

For us, this editorial was not simply about documenting two designs. It was about celebrating the meeting point between fashion, architecture and photography, three disciplines united by a love of form.

And in the hands of Charlotte Griffith, the Margot and Jolie heels became exactly what they were always intended to be: objects of craft, captured in a moment of Roman poetry.
