Lockdown was particularly hard on brides-to-be. The cancellation of weddings meant that brides who had planned weddings lost out on memorable moments, as well as deposits.Freya launched the competition with her goal being “to bring creativity and inspiration to the many brides affected by the lacklustre days we are living.”
Reaching out through social media, Freya challenged her followers to design their perfect pair of shoes.
With strong entries, it was hard to pick just one. Shortlisted designs included a striking blue bridal boot, a white bridal high heeled boot with silk flowers and brass chains, and a Swarovski crystal encrusted high heeled sandal.
However, the entry that really amazed Freya was Hannah Kemsley’s ‘Luna’ entry. Hannah designed a pair of starry-sky-inspired white high heel shoes with star patterned heels.
Now, Freya is excited to announce these heels will be available not only to Hannah, but a limited amount will be available on the Freya Rose website.
A year later, the ‘Design Your Own Bridal Shoe - Freya Rose X Love My Dress’ competition is still helping those affected by lockdown in a different way; Freya is delighted to reveal that 100% of the profits made from this limited edition collaboration ‘Luna’ will be donated to the ‘Together for Short Lives’ charity.
‘Together for Short Lives’ supports and speaks up for children, families and those that care for them. The charity aims to help families dealing with the impact of COVID-19 as well as caring for seriously ill children at the same time.
Imbued with fresh inspiration and modernity, the ivory designer court shoe – “the height of elegance,” features a 4 inch heel, with star motif inlaid using precious materials, such as genuine Mother of Pearl, brass, and Sterling Silver.
'Luna Gold'
Wonderfully decadent, the heel is topped with an 18ct Gold-plated hand-cut Mother of Pearl star. The silver version features a Mother of Pearl star encased in Sterling Silver.
Classic in any iteration, the sweet charm of a classic white court shoe is irresistible when combined with the thoughtful star details on this celestial shoe.
Hannah Kemsley’s design was inspired by her love of her husband, an homage to “[her] partner always saying he loves me “to the stars and back”, and the shoes are a wonderful representation of that. Freya did an amazing job translating my drawing to real life, and I will truly treasure them forever!” Hannah explained. The ‘Luna’ ivory high heeled luxury shoe uses these sentimental signatures throughout.
